## Roulette Payouts Explained

Roulette comes with a large variety in betting options. These betting options even come with different roulette payouts. Odds are shown in the form of x to 1, showing the player how much they will win for each dollar that they bet. Players win back the money they placed down, along with their winnings, once they win the bet.

## Rules of Roulette

Bets go on the table, touching the numbers which the player chooses to bet on. Bets can be placed on single numbers, a range of numbers, red or black numbers, and odd or even numbers. If the spin lands on a zero, the player may take back half of their bet.

Bets which are displayed outside of the numbers on the table are known as outside bets. These bets refer to specific sets of numbers and colors. A player will lose any of these bets of the ball lands on a 0 or 00.

### Low or High Numbers

If a player chooses low numbers, they are betting that the ball will land on numbers from 1-18. If the player bets on high numbers, they are betting that the ball will land on numbers from 19-36. The roulette payout of this bet is 1 to 1.

### Red or Black Numbers

If a player chooses either red or black numbers, they are betting that the ball will land on the color that they choose. The roulette payout of this bet is 1 to 1 as well.

### Odd or Even Numbers

If a player chooses either odd or even numbers, they are betting that the ball will land on numbers which are either odd or even. The roulette payout of this bet is 1 to 1.

### Columns

Each column on the table appears with twelve numbers in each. If a player chooses a "columns" bet, they are betting on the ball landing on one of the numbers in their chosen column. This bet has a roulette payout of 2 to 1.

### Dozens

A bet on a dozen could mean any of the following options:

- A bet on the first dozen numbers (1-12)
- A bet on the second dozen numbers (13-24)
- A bet on the third dozen numbers (25-36)

The roulette payout of this bet is 2 to 1.

## Roulette Payouts on Inside Bets

Players can bet on specific numbers as well.

These bets have a lower winning probability, however, they do offer higher roulette payouts.

### Straight-up

Straight-up refers to a bet on a single number. This has a very low winning probability but offers a payout of 35 to 1.

### Split Bet

A split bet refers to a bet on two neighboring numbers on the roulette table. Split bets offer roulette payouts of 17 to 1.

### Street Bet

Betting on the ball to land on three numbers on the edge of a row is called a Street Bet. This bet offers roulette payouts of 11 to 1.

### Corner bet

When a player chooses to bet on four numbers which corner each other, making a square, it is known as a square bet or a quarter bet. This offers a roulette payout of 8 to 1.

### Five-number bet

The only five-number bet that a player can choose in roulette is on the numbers 1, 2, 3, 0, and 00. The player would place the chip on the outside corner of the roulette table, in between the 1 and 0.

A five-number bet offers a roulette payout of 6 to 1 and it also has a higher house edge.

### Six-number bet

A player can make a six-number bet for a roulette payout of 5 to 1. This bet covers two adjacent rows of numbers. It is also known as a line bet.

With the exception of a five-number bet, the house edge on all inside bets and outside bets remains the same in roulette.
